In my attempt to try to make a more "pourable" fuel I used 65/35 KNO3/SU and 10(milliliters) Antifreeze. The fuel was very pourable "workable" but to crumbly after it set up. It burned at 10 seconds per inch. So I reduced the Antifreeze to 7.5 percent (9 milliliters)and this seemed to still pour well and set up solid. The burn rate is about 7 seconds per linear inch very close to standard R-Candy. Interesting thing: would it be 6 seconds for 6 percent and 9 seconds for 9 percent? Just an observation.
The test strand here is a tad shorter than 1 inch so it only took about 6 seconds to burn. The fuel seemed to inhibit very well to the casting tubes. I think this will be a good fuel for casting. The Antifreeze gives it the GREEN florescent color thus my naming it "ALIEN" R-Candy.
I guess to say antifreeze by percent isn't really accurate because its not by weight but milliliters. Please TAKE NOTE of this discrepency in post.
i have seen your video and commented on it (youtube) and was just wondering if accidental ignitions can occur even if the flame doesnt touch the stuff?
wow, impressive. i like how you teach us how to make.
